En 1968 el Jaguar XJ6 se presentó en el Paris Motor Show con un éxito Inmediato y fue votado Coche del Año.
En 1969 el nuevo Daimler Sovereign, basado en el Jaguar XJ6, fue anunciado, como una versión del XJ6. Las únicas diferencias fueron un bien proporcionado (y quizá más atractivo) radiador estriado en la tradición Daimler, un adorno estriado a juego en el maletero, emblemas Daimler en los cubos de rueda y volante, y una tira cromada en el centro del capot.
Las variantes Daimler tenían el mismo rango de colores que los modelos Jaguar.
Mecánicamente no hubo cambios.

El coche fue comprado en Madrid en mayo 1970 y tuvo un solo propietario hasta 2024 cuando sus herederos lo vendieron al actual propietario, que realizó las reparaciones mecánicas y de pintura necesarias.
En 2017 se catalogó como vehículo histórico con el número H-2994-BBF

In 1968, the Jaguar XJ6 was presented at the Paris Motor Show to immediate success and was voted Car of the Year. In 1969, the new Daimler Sovereign, based on the Jaguar XJ6, was announced as a version of the XJ6. The only differences were a well-proportioned (and perhaps more attractive) fluted radiator in the Daimler tradition, a matching fluted trim on the trunk, Daimler emblems on the wheel hubs and steering wheel, and a chrome strip down the center of the hood.
The Daimler variants had the same range of colors as the Jaguar models. Mechanically, there were no changes.

The car was purchased in Madrid in May 1970 and had only one owner until 2024, when his heirs sold it to the current owner, who carried out the necessary mechanical and paint repairs.
In 2017 it was registered as a historic vehicle with the number H-2994-BBF.
