Fahrzeugbeschreibung
HISTORY
Introduced in 1996, the Jaguar XK8 marked a new chapter for the marque, combining the elegance of Jaguar's great grand tourers with an entirely modern aluminium V8 and a sophisticated chassis. Designed as the successor to the XJS, the X100 XK8 quickly established itself as one of the most desirable luxury GTs of its era.
The XK8 was conceived not as an uncompromising sports car, but as a true grand tourer — a car capable of crossing continents in effortless comfort while retaining the grace, refinement and character that had always defined Jaguar.
By 2000, the XK8 had matured into a particularly appealing specification. Its 4.0-litre naturally aspirated AJ-V8 offered smooth and effortless performance, while the traditional combination of leather, wood and beautifully detailed instrumentation created an interior that remains unmistakably Jaguar.
Today, the early X100 XK8 is increasingly appreciated for its combination of classic proportions, mechanical simplicity and analogue character. Well-preserved, low-mileage examples are becoming particularly sought after, especially cars that have retained their original specification and have not been modified over the years.
OUR CAR
This particular XK8 is an exceptionally special example.
Delivered new in Athens, Greece, the car has remained in the hands of one family from new, covering an extraordinary 17,000 kilometres during its entire life. Its exceptionally low mileage and remarkable originality make it a genuine time capsule, preserved in a manner rarely encountered today.
Finished in the elegant Topaz Metallic (SEC) with its original Oatmeal leather (AGD) interior, the specification is quintessentially Jaguar. The warm exterior colour and light leather cabin create an exceptionally elegant and understated combination.
The car benefits from a particularly desirable equipment specification, including electric memory seats, heated front seats, an electrically adjustable memory steering column with entry/exit function and a 6-disc CD changer, complemented by the traditional wood detailing and leather interior that define the X100 cabin.
Deliberately specified on 17-inch wheels. Aside from their period-correct appearance, the smaller diameter wheels provide a more supple and comfortable ride than larger alternatives, perfectly suited to the XK8's role as a refined grand tourer.
This is ultimately what makes this car so appealing. It is not trying to be a sports car; it is a proper British 2+2 GT, designed to carry two adults in exceptional comfort while retaining the occasional-use rear seats that give it a practicality that a conventional two-seater cannot offer.
With just 17,000 km from new, single-family ownership, first paint, an original Athens history, an elegant factory colour combination and an exceptionally well-preserved interior, this XK8 represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of Jaguar's most charismatic modern classics in genuine time-capsule condition.
A beautiful example of the X100 XK8 at its most elegant — low-mileage, original and unmistakably Jaguar.
