--DESCRIPTION---
Are you looking for a car that is more than just transportation? Then the Jensen Interceptor Convertible is a rare opportunity. This iconic grand tourer from England combines timeless class with unprecedented American muscle power – all in an extremely exclusive open-top version.
BACKGROUND & HISTORY
The Jensen Interceptor was introduced in 1966 by Jensen Motors. The design came from the Italian Carrozzeria Touring, which immediately explains why the Interceptor has such elegant and recognizable lines. Under the hood, Jensen deliberately opted for reliability and power: a powerful Chrysler V8.
The Convertible is by far the rarest version. Only a small number were delivered from the factory, making this version a highly sought-after collector's item today. Driving with the top down, with the deep V8 sound as a soundtrack, is an experience that few classics can match.
FACTS & FGURES
- Equipped with a powerful Chrysler 7.2L V8 with impressive torque
- Luxury interior with high-quality leather and wood trim
- At the time, one of the fastest four-seater convertibles in the world
- Hand-built in limited numbers
- Unique combination of British craftsmanship, American engineering, and Italian lines
- One of the last ever produced Interceptor Convertibles with the desirable wood dashboard and other upgrades
- Restored by current owner during 2021-2025. The base was sound, but the car is stripped down and repainted in Azzurro Blue metallic
- All mechanics have been inspected and - if necessary - overhauled, improved or renewed
- Much attention has been paid to cosmetic details inside and out. From refurbished wheels and polished stainless steel parts to wear parts and new carpet + interior
- New Hella lamp units with Philips LED lamps
- Red Koni shock absorbers for great handling&suspension
- Retro radio (Bluetooth, FM, USB en AUX)
- Improvements to the cooling and electrical system, amongst others
- Original A/C system. Upgrade to modern A/C can be discussed
