250 convertible

De Packard 250, geproduceerd door de Packard Motor Car Company uit Detroit, Michigan, werd op 24 augustus 1950 (model 1951) geïntroduceerd en heeft dezelfde basiscarrosserie en wielbasis als de 200, maar is uitgerust met Packards grotere 327 cu in (5,4 liter) legendarische 8-cilinder-in-lijnmotor van 150 pk bij 3600 tpm. met een 2-speed Ultramatic automatic, een exclusief voor Packard aangeboden rembekrachtiging “Easamatic" en gestyled met meer luxe exterieurdetails.De legendarische Packard prestige en luxe betaalbaar maken, dat was de missie van de 250 in 1951, en zoals deze elegante, sportieve cabriolet aantoont, is dat vandaag de dag nog steeds het geval. De 250-modellenreeks bestond uit de cabriolet en de Mayfair hardtop. Slechts 2572 Series 250 cabriolets werden gebouwd waardoor dit een zeldzame auto was en een onmiskenbare Packard-aanwezigheid. De gloednieuwe 250 was ontworpen als een voordelige Packard, maar alles is relatief, want hij kostte in 1951 nog steeds evenveel als een Cadillac. It also featured a two-speed Ultramatic automatic transmission, Packard-exclusive "Easamatic" power brakes, and was styled with more luxurious exterior details.Making legendary Packard prestige and luxury affordable was the 250's mission in 1951, and as this elegant, sporty convertible demonstrates, that remains true today. The 250 model line consisted of the convertible and the Mayfair hardtop. Only 2,572 Series 250 convertibles were built, making this a rare car and an unmistakable Packard presence. The brand-new 250 was designed as an affordable Packard, but everything is relative, as in 1951 it still cost the same as a Cadillac.
