Full nut and bold restoration (costing over 100.000 euro):
This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 is the result of a complete, fully documented nut-and-bolt restoration.
The car was completely stripped down to a bare body shell and individual components, after which every single part was separately rebuilt, restored, refurbished, or replaced, and then carefully reassembled.
The extensive photographic documentation shows:
  • Complete disassembly
  • Body restoration and panel fitting
  • Rebuild of drivetrain and suspension
  • Reassembly of chassis and body
  • Paintwork and finishing
  • Installation of engine, transmission, interior, and details
  • Restoration and refinishing of countless individual components and fasteners
This is not a cosmetic refresh, but a thorough, high-level frame-off restoration.
1) Disassembly & Inventory
  • The entire car was disassembled down to the bare body and individual components
  • Engine, transmission, rear axle, front and rear suspension, interior, glass, wiring, subframes, axles, brakes, etc. were completely removed
  • All parts were sorted, cleaned, and cataloged
  • Bolts, nuts, brackets, and small hardware were treated separately (cleaned, coated/plated, or replaced)
The photos clearly show:
  • Bare body shell
  • Loose subframes, control arms, springs, steering components
  • Disassembled transmission and rear axle
  • Loose engine components
  • Large bins with parts in various stages of restoration
2) Body & Sheet Metal
  • Body stripped to bare metal
  • Sheet metal inspected, repaired, and restored where necessary
  • Panels, seams, edges, and corners carefully straightened and refined
  • Particular attention paid to:
  • Rear quarters and rear panels
  • Transitions around the tail lights
  • Panel fitment around doors, trunk lid, and hood
  • Fitment was checked multiple times before final finishing
The photos show:
  • Panel shaping with filler and test fitting
  • Detailed corrections around the rear and panel transitions
  • Tight panel gaps before final paint
  • Fully finished interior of the body shell and engine bay
3) Paintwork & Finishing
  • Body professionally painted (original colour matching the build sheet)
  • Engine bay, interior, and trunk also fully finished
  • Multiple stages visible: primer, sealer, color, and final finish
  • Cleanly finished seams, edges, and inner panels
  • Not a “quick respray,” but a full inside-and-out paint process
4) Chassis, Suspension & Brakes
  • Front and rear suspension fully rebuilt
  • Control arms, springs, axles, and mounting hardware refinished
  • Components repainted/coated
  • Brake components rebuilt and reassembled
  • Everything reinstalled on a clean, finished chassis
Photos show:
  • Painted and rebuilt subframes
  • New or rebuilt springs and control arms
  • A clean, tightly assembled underside
5) Drivetrain (Engine, Transmission, Rear Axle)
Engine
  • Fully rebuilt and repainted
  • Fitted with Cobra Le Mans valve covers
  • Cleanly detailed engine bay
  • Accessories, cooling, and auxiliary systems reinstalled
Transmission
  • Disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt
  • Case and components refinished
  • Photos show both pre- and post-rebuild condition
Rear Axle / Differential
  • Disassembled and rebuilt
  • Housing repainted
  • Reassembled and reinstalled
6) Hardware, Details & Components
  • Large quantities of bolts, nuts, brackets, and small parts:
  • Cleaned
  • Recoated/replated
  • Or replaced where necessary
  • Brake discs, radiator, lines, mounts, brackets, etc. visible in restored condition
  • Radiator rebuilt / replaced
  • Exhaust components and underside neatly finished
This level of detail is typical of high-end, concours-style restorations.
7) Interior & Finishing
  • Interior completely stripped and rebuilt
  • New or restored carpeting
  • Dashboard, controls, and gauges installed
  • Shifter, pedals, and details neatly finished
  • Trunk area cleanly finished
