Rare flagship T3 camper in exceptional condition – rust-free, garage-kept, low mileage, and extensively maintained.
Offered for sale is my cherished 1990 Volkswagen Westfalia Atlantic Pop-Top, one of the rarest and most desirable factory-built T3 camper models ever produced.
The Atlantic was Volkswagen's flagship camper at the end of the T3 production run and represented the most luxurious and expensive camper in the Westfalia range. Only around 1,000 Atlantic models were built, with approximately half equipped with the highly sought-after factory pop-top roof, making this one of the rarest and most collectible T3 variants.
Vehicle Highlights
Only 186,000 km (approximately 115,500 miles) from new.
100% rust-free. Last year the vehicle underwent a comprehensive body inspection and professional rust prevention/restoration, including all typical hidden corrosion areas beneath the underbody protection and body panels. The body is now completely solid.
Engine professionally rebuilt approximately 6,000 km ago, including cylinder head refurbishment and turbocharger work. Starts instantly and drives beautifully through the smooth 5-speed manual gearbox.
Entirely original interior in outstanding condition. The camper has never been used for cooking, leaving the carpets, upholstery, sink, stove and refrigerator remarkably clean and well preserved.
Original pop-top canvas remains in excellent condition with only one small professionally repaired tear. Apart from minor storage marks, it is among the finest original examples available.

Since 2017, the camper has been owned by a passionate American Volkswagen enthusiast who spared no expense in maintaining and improving it. Including the purchase price, more than €40,000 has been invested.
The vehicle has always been garage kept, very likely throughout its entire life.
The only reason for selling is the family's relocation to Florida.
Affectionately known as "Fritzie," this camper has truly been part of the family.
